Living on the coast for over 20 years has had a strong influence on my paintings, which usually feature the sea, rocks and related images.
After experimenting with different styles over the years, I’ve recently been working on large, semi-abstract acrylic paintings. I start with anything that appeals to me and develop the painting in a very free way, which I really enjoy as I never know exactly how the finished piece will look!
I rely on memory, imagination and scenes from nature to inspire me, and use a limited palette with heightened colours to create the painting. I’ve developed my own style of illustration by incorporating multi-images into one illustration, which I sometimes create in 3D.
After a career as a Graphic Designer I now use a lot of those skills working as a Chalkboard Artist while also developing my painting.
